You may not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, translate or disassemble the software in whole or in part. You may not alter it anyhow or create derivative works based on the software, copy the software except as provided below, rent, lease, assign or otherwise transfer any rights with respect to the software or remove any proprietary notices on such software.

Shareware Version

You are hereby licensed to: use the Shareware Version of the software for a 21 day evaluation period; make as many copies of the Shareware version of this software and documentation as you wish; give exact copies of the original Shareware version to anyone; and distribute the Shareware version of the Software and documentation in its unmodified form provided that all the files are included and are unmodified and that no files have been added to the package. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting donations, for any such copies, however made; and from distributing the software and/or documentation with other products (commercial or otherwise) without prior written permission.

If you want to put this application on a freeware/shareware CD-ROM or other compilation, please contact the author before doing so.

Unregistered use of the software after the 21-day evaluation period is in violation of federal copyright laws. You may ask the author for a limited unlock code free of charge that extends the trial period once more, if you want to extend your evaluation period once.

Evaluation and Registration

History Inspector now has bee changed to be distributed as freeware. It can be downloaded and used only with the restrictions given above in the section Disclaimer. You may send a note with your impressions to the author via E-MAIL.

Index Reader is not free software. This license allows you to use this software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 21 days. If you use this software after the 21 day evaluation period a registration fee of US $ 39 (thirty-nine, if payed via PayPal) for Index Reader per single CPU license is due. The trial version is time limited during the trial period. Only days when the program has been used effectively are counted. After the end of the trial period, the program will stop working. Only registering will still be functioning. If the trial period is too short or some error happens during it, you can ask the author for a limited unlock code free of charge that extends the trial period once more.

For registration please send your individual code string that will be displayed on the screen after payment of the fee to the author via E-MAIL. For paying use on-line registration services as follows.

Types of license

The normal software product license is a single-user license.  A single-user license is personal - it applies to an individual user, and authorizes that person to use the software (on one or more computers).  If you have a single work site where several individual users may wish to use the software, you may wish to consider a concurrent user license.

One concurrent user license allows multiple individuals to access and use a shared copy of a software product, so long as no more than one individual is using the product at any given time. Concurrent user licenses are available on request and will cost more than the single user license, depending on the number of users.

Home-Use allows a licensed user to share the same application license on a work PC as well as a home PC for work-related purposes only.  Portable-Use allows a licensed user to share the same application license on a work PC as well as a portable PC for work-related purposes only.  Home and portable PC use rights are known collectively as secondary use rights. The normal single user license for these products includes these secondary use rights.

With the exception of secondary use rights, the single-user license is a single CPU license that gives you the right to install, use, access, display, run, or otherwise interact with one copy of the software product on a single computer, workstation, terminal, handheld PC, pager, "smart phone," or other digital electronic device. The primary user of the computer on which the software product runs may make a second copy for his or her exclusive use on a portable computer. For this copy, an additional, separate unlock code can be ordered free of charge from the author.

You may not rent, lease, or lend the software product.

Reservation of Rights.  All rights not expressly granted are reserved by the author.

New version and registration fees changes

To unlock a trial version an individual license code is required for any computer. This code is generated by a handshake procedure via e-mail. For one registration fee paid you may now get up to 7 different unlock codes for different installations.

History Reader version 5.2.0 has been improved to act as a versatile Index Reader program. It combines the functions of History and Cache Reader. Furthermore the license fee for a single license has been decreased from 50 to 39 $ (if payed via PayPal). The registration fee if payed via ShareIt is now $ 49 for a single license. It has been increased, to compensate the high service charges from ShareIt.

39 US Dollars at PayPal

26 Euros at PayPal

PayPal enables secure payment with credit cards without becoming member of PayPal. Note that the price is somewhat discounted for this payment. (Due to the decreased $/€ relation the price in $ has been increased, that in € decreased).

IMPORTANT

After registering at ShareIt or paying via PayPal always perform the following:

Launch Index Reader, go to Options and select:
Register program. A new window will open. Enter any user name of your choosing in this window. In the next window, a code string will be shown that represents an  encrypted user ID. Send this code string to the developer by clicking on the button 'support' in the register window. This string is required to generate an individual unlock code. Without sending this message, the fact that you have registered will not come to the developer's knowledge. After sending this message your individual unlock code will be generated and sent to you via e-mail by the author. You will be entitled to obtain customer support via e-mail.

By downloading the program you confirm to accept to these terms of agreement.

Important note to save and open CHM files (History Reader Guided Tour):

Unfortunately .CHM files can harbor viruses and so Microsoft decided to impose new rules on .CHM files in their latest Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows XP. If you are running a version of Windows older than Windows XP SP2 you can ignore the rest of this paragraph: my .CHM files will display for you without problems. But if you are running Windows XP SP2 then it is important that you elect to Save the .CHM file to your hard drive rather than Opening it directly from my web site. This is important because once the .CHM file is on your computer you need to right-click on its filename and then select Properties. At the bottom of the Properties page you may notice a Security warning that says "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer". Click on the Unblock button and you will then be able to read the complete textbook. You will know that Windows XP SP2 is blocking the .CHM file if when you try to view it every page has been replaced with the message "The page you are looking for is currently unavailable".
